We are teachers of yoga, meditation and healthy nutrition who have chosen to call Fuerteventura our home. We fell in love with the island’s slow pace of life, endless sandy beaches, cleansing power of the ocean and otherworldly volcanic landscape.
Tjasa Maticic – RYT-200 SuryaSakti Yoga & RYT-100 Yin Yoga
Tjasa has been practising and studying the teachings of yoga for over two decades. She has trained in dynamic vinyasa, hatha and more recently yin yoga. For her, yoga is a way of connecting to the divine, finding stillness, staying in the present, and feeling grounded and balanced.She holds a certificate in plant-based nutrition through e-Cornell and believes that yoga combined with plant based lifestyle leads to vibrant health, wellness and compassion on the planet. She is also a nature & lifestyle photographer specializing in yoga photography.
Nina Gehrke – RYT-200, Santosha Yoga
Trained as a traditional hatha yoga teacher, Nina’s yoga teaching journey led her from Switzerland and Germany to Fuerteventura. Being a surf teacher herself, she loves teaching surfers and approaches every group differently depending on their needs, sometimes taking it slow with restorative practices, sometimes practising more dynamic flow yoga, or yoga nidra to calm down and reconnect whilst relaxing to a meditative state.
Alja Kers – RYT-300, Shivalaya yoga Shala, Spain
For many years Alja has been travelling the world and pursuing her biggest dream – surfing. Along the way as a complimentary practice to her surfing she found yoga. Recently she decided to take her yoga practice to the next level and she finished yoga teacher training with emphasis on vinyasa yoga. She teaches challenging and dynamic flow yoga and pranayama.
